FGL NFT: A different Team behind every Game
With FGL NFT Games we set out from the start to build an ecosystem around multiple games that all use the FGL Token in their economy. But this doesn’t mean that one team rapidly builds and launches something to move on to the next project. Definitely not! Behind every game we launch is a different team that continues to dedicate their time to updates and optimization. Allow us to introduce them!
Cosmic Clash — Where it all started
Cosmic Clash was the first project launched by FGL NFT Games, and is therefore the brainchild of our General Manager Roger Bankus.
- Where do you live? Oregon, United States
- What’s your background? For a long time I was a software engineer focused in ColdFusion, Adobe Flex, then finally React. In the last 10 years I have been managing FGL, mainly a mobile game publishing company. For a year now we have been publishing games in the WAX space.
- Favourite game? Growing up I would say Master of Orion, any kind of space conquest game really! Also played a ton of World of Warcraft + Hearthstone.
- What do you enjoy about NFT games in general? Mainly the idea that you OWN the assets that you buy in the game. Your money doesn’t just disappear into a void, you can actually sell your assets to get some back, and try to make good trades. Having a real money value makes everything much more exciting.
- What do you enjoy most about WAX specifically? I am very new to the blockchain space, so WAX is my first (and only) chain I have tried so far. I have found it very easy to use + develop games for.
- What do you enjoy besides making games? I am a big fan of the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, etc. Also an avid reader of anything sci fi / fantasy.
- What are your future plans for the game you’re working on? For Cosmic Clash I want to maintain the simple play structure that it has. I think a lot of blockchain games add layer and layer of complication to them and eventually get very difficult to play. Cosmic Clash will continue to be a pure PvP game where you battle it out against other players directly. We will be constantly creating new ships and new battle modes.
Mecha World
Our 2nd project, and a tad more ambitious. Designed by FGL’s Martine Spaans, but developed by team we’ve been working with for over 10 years; Origaming Media.
Andre Yu is the Studio Manager at Origaming and Project Manager of Mecha World.
- Where do you live? Medan city, North Sumatra, Indonesia
- What’s your background? I was running a humble game studio for 10+ years already and still hustling everyday. These days I don’t code as much as I did, mainly now working as Producer.
- Favourite game? I’d say Final Fantasy VII Remake and the first Metal Gear Solid. And of course Mecha World. I believe we offer amazing visual on the NFT and when this game fully shipped, this will make a ripple throughout the WAX game landscape.
- What do you enjoy about NFT games in general? The premise of owning our game inventories is really unique in itself. I spent a good amount of my young playing various games with my friends. None of it gave me anything but good memories. With NFT, especially the ones for Mecha World, we can actually grow our Mechas and change their appearance.
- What do you enjoy most about WAX specifically? I truly believe WAX will flourish when others falter due to the fact that WAX has actual utilization in the form of gaming. The community is very large and committed, there are tremendous energy and excitement emitting from the community everyday.
- What do you enjoy besides making games? I enjoy reading tech stuff and learning how code works in various situations. My job demands me to have high level of knowledge in various areas, sometimes I do miss coding things my own. I do try to make some time to learn Web dev, python and Unity these days.
- What are your future plans for the game you’re working on? First and foremost, the team is now working hard to release full blown PVP gameplay and revamp the UX. There is another Battle game planned that involves 3 Mechas at once. That’ll be very interesting. And also, there will be a new cool Mecha design.
Billy, the Lead Programmer on Mecha World and also part of the Origaming team.
- Where do you live? Medan city, North Sumatra, Indonesia
- What’s your background? I’m a part-time college educator specializing in web technologies. I have a team working on web and app solutions for other companies.
- Favourite game? I’d say Starcraft. Andre and I keep planning to play some, but first we need to finish Mecha World. Mecha World is our biggest pride and the main priority right now.
- What do you enjoy about NFT games in general? I’d say NFT games have the upper hand thanks to its unique proposition of having real-world value. NFT games in my opinion is one of the greatest gaming innovations of our modern day and it’s here to stay.
- What do you enjoy besides making games? I really like tinkering with electronics and just programming in general. It may sound cliché, but problem solving is MY thing. I like to joke with my colleagues that I can come up with 3 more problems when you consult a problem with me, meaning I can see beyond their viewpoint and able to give them a different perspective.
- What are your future plans for the game you’re working on? Right after bridging FGL token with Mecha Points, we’ll be revisiting our smart contract for finding NFT. Arena feature will be added, and also overall UX of the main Mecha World website will get streamlined.
Outlaw Troopers

This great paertnership grew out to Outlaw Troopers; our 3rd game in the FGL NFT portfolio, combining special NFT’s with the Cosmic Clash NFT’s for completely new gameplay.
Chiew Vee Wen, Game Designer and Lead Programmer.
- Where do you live? Malaysia
- What’s your background? Freelance programmer, Indie Game Developer

- What do you enjoy most about WAX specifically? Ease of use
- What do you enjoy besides making games? Playing games, watching TV series on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

- What do you enjoy about NFT games in general? That I get to actually own part of the game, instead of only playing it.
- What do you enjoy most about WAX specifically? This one is easy, the staking feature so I don’t have to pay for transactions each time.
- What do you enjoy besides making games? Biking, playing games (video, board, card, etc), my wife, dessert
